Android – Apps are created equal

Watch Android engineers demonstrate that all applications on Android are created equal. Any app on the mobile device can be replaced or extended — even core components such as the dialer or home.

I still don’t get it, what does it mean when the engineer in this video said: all programs are created equal??? it means ??

the whole ideea of this video seems to be that all humans are and remain equal, regardless of what they change about themselves (aka “core components”).

vote this comment up if you agree or down if you don’t.

It would seem that a lot of folks on here would rather speculate on Diane than discuss the apps. It kinda makes your maturity level transparent. Come back when you’ve grown up a bit.

I thought the shortcut app was cool. I like the idea of being able to put a shortcut from a contact on one of my home screens. That’s handy for the people I call all the time.

@crazytaxizoo I think that in essence “all programs are created equal” means that no part of the android system is above customisation or replacement. I take that to mean that if you or a developer wanted, they could write a new phone dialer or text messaging program and use that instead of the standard one.
That’s a bit theoretical though, as I’m just a short way off getting my first android phone. All being well I’ll have a HTC Desire in the next week or so. I’ll know more then. All the best.

Maturity or not… This is just so bizarre that I’m too distracted by the weirdness factor to be able to focus on the content of the video. I just had to stop watching it.

Who cares what Diane is? As long as she makes these kind of improvement apps, I don’t give a shit if she’s a bipolar donkey.

As for the people on here with degenerative remarks: You’re probably fat. Or stupid. Or religious. Or inadequatly endowed. Definatly hypocrite.

    Leave Diane/Britney aloneeee. =)
