Windows Phone and Kinect to create “holographic” game engine
Another quick hack using the Kinect beta SDK and my new Windows Phone (which is great!). What you see is a simple game engine utilizing the pseudo-holographic effect from my other videos. A Kinect “sees” the position of the viewer and the 3D engine adjusts the image accordingly to give the illusion of a real 3D object. The 3D engine supports anaglyph 3D (red/cyan glasses) for a better effect in real life. A simple WP7 app controls the application and the helicopter using the accelerometers of the phone. If you like it, check out my other videos. Thanks for watching!

@Hive8Zone My own, based on (old) managed DirectX 9.

Can you see it without looking through a camera??
0:51 I see a creepy face. Two white dots for the eyes, and the brown line for the mouth.
@sleepzou Yes, the image is really projected onto my table. But a regular monitor would work too.
I saw this technology in MI3
Where ist the Kinect in the room?
any way to download this?
Wow! this is just great!
@Jackjan4 It’s a few meters away, enough to have the viewer in frame.
@programming4fun And Kinect is so exactcly with the calibration between holo and person? :O
@Jackjan4 Yes, precision is more than enough for this application.
“Oh, just a holographic projection on my coffee table” Wait what, holographic projection on coffee table? Oh, that’s old hat, nothing, everyone has that right? WTF?? But cool if real.
That’s really incredible! Microsoft should litterally cover you with money to develop this tecnology! With this kind of integration the future of WindowsPhone would be really AMAZING!
It’s impressive, but the real question here is… will it blend?
Your did a great job. Very impressive!
